| Our client is a manufacturer of High Reliability Custom Power Supplies for the Military and Aerospace industry. We are seeking an experienced engineering manager with a minimum of 15 years experience, including approximately 5 years in a management role to oversee our electrical, mechanical and reliability engineering functions within the Power Management Group.

HIGHLIGHTS OF JOB:
The outstanding candidate we seek will be responsible for, but not limited to, these responsibilities:
• Directs and coordinates activities of engineering department to custom design, manufacture, and test power supply components, products, and systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
• Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
• Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
• Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
• Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Forecasts operating expenses of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
• Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
• Provides direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly.
• Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree (BSEE or BSME) or equivalent, with at least 15 years related experience in the design, analysis, manufacturing and testing of DC/DC Converters, primarily for Space applications.
• 5 or more years of work experience in a supervisory/management position in the Electronics Industry.
•Must have prior design expertise in DC/DC converters.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
• Must possess strong technical skills land project planning/project management skills.
PREFERENCES:
•MSEE, MSME or MBA desirable
•In depth knowledge of computer based analytical tools
•DC-DC and space application experience!
