Our Client is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join the team as Vice President of Application Engineering for Power ICs. In this critical role, you will lead the development and execution of product strategies for Power ICs, including Digital Controllers, Smart Power Stages, High Density Modules, and Point of Load (POL) converters. Your expertise and leadership will shape the future of Power Delivery for High-performance Computing and drive innovation in the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the definition, development, and execution of product strategies for Power ICs, including customer applications and go-to-market strategies.
- Drive innovation and product development across the portfolio, ensuring timely execution and delivery of best-in-class products.
- Develop and maintain deep customer partnerships to ensure right-fit product definition and delivery of differentiated system-solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to steer roadmap and go-to-market strategies, ensuring market leadership and aligning with customer needs.
- Build and implement organizational strategies to scale and structure the team for continuous innovation, enhanced customer intimacy, and timely product execution, while maximizing operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute hiring strategies to build a steady pipeline of talent across different functions and develop a personnel growth plan for a resilient organization.
- Develop and implement validation and automation strategies to accelerate product development cycles and ensure first-pass success.
- Provide on-site leadership and support to customers and internal teams, traveling approximately 25% of the time.
Requirements:
- Proven track record as an engineering leader with strong expertise in Power Management solutions and product development, including mixed-signal ICs, monolithic and multi-chip power solutions.
- Direct experience in Computing power delivery, including Digital Controllers, Power Stages, Modules, and POL converters, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor engineering leaders and drive decisions for strong product definition and execution.
- Deep understanding of power converter topologies and control techniques, MOSFET technologies, and system modeling and design.
- Extensive knowledge of IC design process, application development, and customer support.
- High level of motivation and ownership, with a can-do mindset and ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with all functions in the organization, from Program management to IC design to Packaging, Software development, Marketing, FAEs, and sales.
- Extremely responsive, with the ability to jump on difficult design and/or customer issues to lead and guide the team towards resolutions and navigate customer communications.
- Strong relationships with internal and external engineering communities, with the ability to influence without authority.
- Self-learning, self-disciplined, and a good team player.
- Approximately 15+ years of experience in engineering design and/or applications engineering and customer support, with 8+ years of experience managing application engineering teams.
- BSEE or MSEE preferred, with hands-on experience in high-frequency, high-current, high-density DC/DC designs.
